Yan Zhao

Yan Zhao, is an associate professor at Beijing Dance Academy,Master's Supervisor in Art Therapy at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China,certified dance therapist by the German Dance Therapy Association.She has master's degree in psychology from Beijing Normal University.Her main research fields are dance therapy and expressive arts therapy.

She is the chief editor of the book in Chinese Dance Therapy: A Dialogue Between Dance and the Soul, and the chief translator of  two English books: the second edition of The Meaning of Movement (edited by Janet Kestenberg Amighi,Susan Loman, and K. Mark Sossin with invited contributors)and The Art and Science of Dance/Movement Therapy(edited by Sharon Chaiklin and Hilda Wengrower).The first book is expected to be officially published in early 2025, and the second book is expected to be published at the end of 2025. She teaches dance therapy courses at Beijing Dance Academy and promotes the development of dance therapy under the Chinese Association of Arts and Medicine.
